Netflix’s Gruesome Korean Zombie Series is a Huge Hit
South Korea has a long history of making excellent horror-themed movies and shows. Park Chan-wook gave the world The Vengence Trilogy in 2002. Its middle, Old boy, is known for its action scenes and twists. 2020 saw Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite win Best Picture at Oscars. The Korean language film Minari received a nomination in that category.
Last year, we can see that Hwang Donghyuk’s Squid Game enthralled Netflix viewers around the globe. It was difficult to ignore the story of four hundred financially stable but well-meaning people. The series was wildly popular and has been immortalized in various memes and merchandise.
A new drama from Game‘s South Korean native seems to be making waves. All Of Us are Dead is one of the most-watched series on Netflix in more than 50 countries. The story is set in a South Korean high school and tells how one student gets bitten by a virus-ridden mouse. It is not surprising that things turn out to be chaotic, and the entire town becomes a victim of a zombie epidemic.
These are not your slow-moving, stumbling, drooling zombies. These are not your stumbling, drooling, slow-moving zombies of old.
