King Of Fighters is different from other fighting games in that it uses a 3v3 team-based system. This means you will need to be familiar with the rules and techniques of each member of the roster to ensure you succeed. To play online, however, you will need to register a team. Otherwise, it will be the default Hero Team you use whenever you start matchmaking. This is how to note a unit in The King Of Fighters XIV.
How do I register a team in KOF XIV?
To register a team, first, go to your battle settings. This can be done by clicking the menu/start button at the top of the main menu. You can then register the team you wish to use in online matchmaking or the single character you would like in 1v1 play.
You are then given 15 pre-selected teams that you can edit. You can then choose the three characters you wish to be part of your team. After you are done, you can make this team your preferred team. This means that you will use them when you play matchmade online modes.
Why do I need to register a team?
You won’t have to play with an unfamiliar team online if you register a group. However, the real reason is that King Of Fighters XV makes it easier for you to get into online games faster. Instead of placing you in fun and then giving you the option to choose your characters, you select your team before you begin matchmaking. Then, you pick your order once you get into a game.
