Sacred Games 2: Just Minutes Away From Release – Its going to be live

Netflix has announced a new release time for Sacred Games two: 12am IST on August 15. This brings the Indian show’ release ahead by over 5 minutes, that was originally set to drop 12am PDT — that translates to 12:30pm IST — as is normal for all Netflix content. There are just eight episodes in total on Sacred Games 2, as with last season, which means that you can (technically) finish your binge until the day even starts for most people. The midnight 12am IST release for Sacred Games season 2 is in place worldwide, which means fans of the series in North America and Europe will begin watching the show on Wednesday, August 14 itself. (If you don’t have other obligations, that is.)

The midnight IST release plan for Sacred Games 2 brings Netflix in line with its global competitor, Amazon Prime Video, which has followed the release time for many of its own Indian originals. Other neighborhood streaming services, from Hotstar into ZEE5 and Eros Now, also have relied on midnight IST releases, which obviously makes sense if most of your crowd is based in India. For Netflix, releasing Sacred Games seasons 2 in midnight as opposed to in the afternoon is an exception to this rule, since the world’s biggest streaming service differently favors a simultaneous Pacific Time global fall for its initial content.

The Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer crime play is undoubtedly the biggest and most popular Netflix original from India, which is why the American giant has reportedly spent up to Rs. 100 crores (about $14 million) on earning the highly-awaited second year. Given Netflix spent roughly Rs. 20 crores (about $2.8 million) about making the first year, per a report from December last year, which Rs. 100-crore figure likely also accounts for production, marketing, and other related costs.
