Explorer Backpacks and Archivist Maps are used to mark hidden items and other secrets on the map. Much like Archivist Maps, the Explorer backpacks, are difficult to locate in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and you should generally do anything to locate them. They are very helpful when going for 100% game completion.
