Splinter Cell by Tom Clancy is a beloved franchise and ranks among the top stealth games ever made. It also competes with the Metal Gear Solid series. Yet, almost 3000 days have passed since the last Splinter Cell title was released.

For this reason, the announcement ofSpectreshould bring joy to those players still waiting for the next Splinter Cell game, at least partially. A small team of indie developers created the game. Spectre, at least partially a spiritual successor of one partSplinter CellIt brought together many players: a multiplayer mode.

Spectre sends up to Splinter Cell’s Spies Vs. Mercs Mode, which was featured in three games of the series. Reapers and Spectres are two different teams that attempt to accomplish different objectives while taking down the other members. Reapers are loud and heavily armoured, dangerous and loud. On the other hand, Spectres are stealthy, tactical and require careful timing and preparation to defeat them. It has many parallels to Spies Vs. Mercs and its creators don’t mince words about their inspiration. Although it is not the Splinter Cell series, it is something.

Symbiosis Games’ lead designers originally fell in love with the Splinter Cell franchise. This is what brought them together again after many years of working separately in the gaming industry. The Spectre game mode will feature three maps and two distinct game modes. Each side can use different Edges, which are different gadgets. Players can personalize their Spectres or Reapers to suit their playstyle and even their appearances. Many players still hope that the Spies vs Mercs mode in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory will be remade.

Splinter cell wasn’t able to thrive solely on its multiplayer. The games are known for their single-player campaigns. Spectre won’t have that feature at launch. The Splinter Cell animated series is currently the best option for players.

Spectre won’t be limited to multiplayer play, however. The game’s creators stated that if the game succeeds, they will make a single-player version. This gives players an additional reason to play the game and gives Splinter Cell’s alleged multiplayer spin-off some serious competition.
