The Pokemon Company announced that it would be releasing a limited series of Pokemon anime, called Pokemon Evolutions. The first trailer looks stunning.

Pokemon Evolutions is an eight-part series. Each episode will take place in a different part of the Pokemon universe. Although the trailer shows glimpses of each episode in action, it focuses primarily on Episode Galar, which appears to be focusing attention on Leon, the regional champion. However, the real star of the show is the Ball Guy (sorry Pikachu), who we briefly see in the montage. Who cheers him on? We will soon find out who is hiding behind the mask. Are Pokemon Evolutions going to be answering the greatest mysteries in the Pokemon world?

The trailer makes sense because the Galar entry will get some attention. However, it will also be the first to air via the Pokemon YouTube channel and the Pokemon TV app (which just launched Switch).

Next week, September 9th, will see the full rollout. A new episode will be aired twice per month for September and October. Pokemon Evolutions will be taking a break in November. The remaining four episodes will air in the first four weeks of December. Here is the schedule:

  • Thursday, September 9, 2009: “The Champion,” featuring the Galar region
  • Thursday, September 23, 2009: “The Eclipse,” featuring the Alola Region
  • Thursday, October 7, 2009: “The Visionary,” featuring the Kalos region
  • Thursday, October 21st: “The Plan,” featuring the Unova Region
  • Thursday, December 2, 2009: “The Rival,” featuring the Sinnoh area
  • Thursday, December 9, 2009: “The Wish,” featuring the Hoenn region
  • Thursday, December 16, 2009: “The Show,” featuring the Johto Region
  • Thursday, December 23, 2009: “The Discovery,” featuring the Kanto region

Although it seems strange to skip November, Pokemon lovers will be busy that month thanks to the launch of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Both are coming to Switch on November 19. Check out our recap from the last Pokemon Presents to learn more about the current state of Pokemon.
