Forza Horizon 5: What are Accolades?
Forza Horizon may seem like a random game of cars and fun. However, there is a purpose to all of it. You are trying to expand the Horizon Festival’s reach to Mexico, while also building enough Accolades to allow you to claim your place in the Horizon Hall of Fame. Accolades can be a refreshing alternative to 4 and 5 for anyone who has been playing Forza Horizon 4.

Accolades, as mentioned above, are a completely new system to Forza Horizon 4. In Forza Horizon 4, every action earned an Influence which was tied into your player level and the level of each discipline, such as road racing, dirt racing and drift stunts. Forza Horizon 5 has both XP as well as Accolades.
You’d expect that winning races, PR stunts, and other actions will result in XP. However, each challenge can earn Accolades. A race event may have two Accolades. One Accolade is for finishing the race, and one Accolade for earning two, three, or even four stars in a stunt jump.
Accolades can be used to reward you with new cosmetics or cars. However, their primary purpose is to move you toward the next Horizon chapter. Here you will unlock new racing disciplines, events, and other ways to interact in Forza Horizon 5. Each Horizon chapter has a different Accolade requirement. This allows you to make progress in your own way. You can choose to complete stunts or explore rather than compete in formal races. This is a viable option for getting through the game.
