MARVEL’S EPISODE 3 REVIEW – MEET ECHO

It’s incredible to think that we are already halfway through Hawkeye in just two weeks. The premiere of the first two episodes was a great way to jumpstart a show that is already very entertaining. This week’s episode focuses more on the Clint/Kate dynamic, making it feel like they are a couple. The episode also introduces Echo, a character who will be much more significant in the MCU. There’s also a lot of content in this year’s MCU. The episode’s scenes rank among the best.

Hawkeye can be streamed on Disney+. You could read the first episode if you missed it.

STORY: THE FUTURE STAR

Although there was not much information about the criminal conspiracy in the first episode, we were presented with Echo, an essential character who made her debut. Disney+ already has plans to create an Echo spin-off series. It is a delicate balance to make the show work and have fans care about someone they will see more of in the future. Maya Lopez is an obvious standout, as she keeps us engaged in a short time. We see her backstory, from her childhood to Ronin’s death.

This reveals her motivation to kill Ronin. This adds more complexity to Clint’s actions over the five years. It was one family that this affected, but can you imagine how many others were influenced by his vengeance mentality? Marvel deserves to be commended for hiring Alaquacox, a brand newcomer who knocks it out of the park. Even though she only appeared in half of the episode, her intensity is still impressive and worth remembering. Maya shines a spotlight upon her hearing loss. While she embraces her deafness as it makes her stronger, Clint is chastised for being too dependent on his hearing aid. It will be interesting to see if Clint follows her lead and gets rid of his hearing aid.

CHARACTERS & PERFORMANCES – LIKE TWO ARROWS IN a QUIVER

Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner have great chemistry. It is great to watch them bond and fight together. Clint loses his hearing aid and has to call Kate for help. He tries to communicate well with Kate. They have a lot of fun and laugh together. Their banter feels natural and recalls their relationship in comics. The banter is not just for fun. Kate must communicate with Clint, which is a difficult conversation with his son.

It’s incredible to see Kate’s broken face and then try to hold it together for Hawkeye. Hallie Steinfeld deserves a lot of praise, but Jeremy Renner deserves special mention. Renner is still underrated on his show, even though scenes like these help to make him stand out. It’s so hard to feel sorry for Renner, as the only thing he desired during Endgame was his family back. And he can’t even see them. These scenes make this show a buddy-duo show. It’s a show with an incredible amount of MCU content and a year that is just right.
