S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Deferred Indefinitely, Ukrainian Devs Focus on Employee Safety
G.S.C. Game World is, the developer of the forthcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has released a video on the current state of the studio following the Russian attack on Ukraine last Wednesday. The video shows the Ukrainian team confirming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.’s development has been halted as the team is primarily concerned with the safety of workers, their families, and their well-being.
This video features footage from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’s motion capture sessions and explains that the team wanted to keep fans updated on the game through video discussion. It had to delete the original video and now uses it to respond to any inquiries about the company’s state. G.S.C. Game World links to Return Alive, which aids the families of military personnel in Ukraine.
Text accompanying videos from Ukraine in the past week reads, “Our country is forced for survival again.” This seems to be the price of freedom. We are now trying to ensure the survival of our employees and their families. Game development was put on hold. We will continue. We will continue to win after the victory. Ukraine, glory!
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was in place before this. 2 was scheduled to launch in December, after a delay in January. The game was delayed indefinitely. Our thoughts and prayers are with the G.S.C. Game World Team, as well as all those affected by the attack in Ukraine. As an act of solidarity, the games industry pulled products and services from Russian shops, including companies like CD Projekt Red. This War on Minedeveloper11 Bit Studios is donating any profits to the Ukrainian Red Cross.
