Kenny Omega will not be at AEW Double or Nothing 2022
A major update was released about Kenny Omega’s status in AEW’s upcoming double or nothing pay-per-view. ‘The Cleaner,’ who has been absent from action since the beginning of the year, was due to injuries that he sustained during his successful run in AEW World Champion. However, after he lost the title to AEW’s ‘Hangman’ Adam Page it was time for Omega to take some well-earned rest from the ring.
Fans were eager to see Kenny back in an AEW ring. However, reports indicate that he won’t be returning to AEW anytime soon, especially not at Double or Nothing. Although Omega was present at the tapings for Dynamite and Rampages, Kenny has not been medically cleared and is far from 100%.
There are still questions about Kenny’s status in AEW’s cross event with New Japan Pro Wrestling. However, it is likely that we will only see Kenny in a non-competitive role. He may be a commentator, or just to update die-hard fans about his progress towards his return. This would be an ideal opportunity for the Omega/Adam Cole feud, which could lead to a massive babyface comeback once Kenny is cleared to return.
Unfortunately, Kenny Omega is unlikely to be seen this weekend, but he will hopefully return to AEW stronger and more powerful than ever.
