Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies* Teases Return of Classic Double Tap Perk
The *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies* community is buzzing with excitement after strong hints that the beloved Double Tap perk may be making a return. This perk, which boosts a player’s rate of fire, has been missing from the franchise since *Black Ops 3* in 2015, but recent clues suggest it could be coming back in Season 3.
The first hint appeared in the *Black Ops 6* Season 1 bundle, where players noticed a charm on the Repairman Operator’s belt resembling the Double Tap logo. Further clues surfaced when the Big Boomer skin for the Marine SP shotgun included the text “Double Tap” on the weapon.
These references raised speculation, but it wasn’t until the March 26, 2025, episode of the COD POD that fans received a more direct hint. During the community mailbag segment, Activision’s Stephanie Snowden responded to a fan’s request for a hint about the next perk, saying, “You sure can, partner!” while wearing a cowboy hat and using a Southern accent, which many fans interpreted as a nod to Double Tap’s Western-themed branding.
Double Tap is a fan favorite due to its usefulness in nearly every Zombies scenario, allowing players to fire faster or even shoot two bullets at once in some iterations. Its return could boost the engagement of *Black Ops 6 Zombies*, which has seen mixed reception recently.
Fans will not have to wait long to find out for sure, as Snowden confirmed the new perk would be revealed on March 27, 2025. Keep an eye out for the official announcement as *Black Ops 6 Zombies* Season 3 continues to build hype.
