Pokémon GO’s April 2025 Community Day Features Vanillite, One of the Most Hated Pokémon

Pokémon GO’s April 2025 Community Day will feature Vanillite, the ice cream-themed Pokémon that has earned a reputation as one of the most disliked creatures in the franchise. The event is set to take place on April 27, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, offering trainers a chance to encounter this polarizing Pokémon more frequently in the wild, with increased chances for shiny variants.

Vanillite first appeared in Pokémon GO in December 2020 and received its shiny form in December 2023. Despite its unpopularity due to its food-inspired design and tactical limitations, the event will offer exclusive bonuses, including the opportunity to evolve Vanillish into Vanilluxe with the Charged Attack Avalanche. This move deals 90 power in Trainer Battles and 85 power in Gyms and Raids.

In addition to boosted spawn rates and shiny chances, players can access the Community Day-exclusive Special Research for $2.00, which offers encounters with Vanillite, a Premium Battle Pass, Rare Candy XL, and more.

Other bonuses for the event include 3× XP, 2× Candy, and increased chances for Candy XL. Lure Modules and Incense will last for three hours, and players can make an additional Special Trade with reduced Stardust costs. Field Research tasks related to the event will also be available, with rewards like Stardust and Vanillite encounters.

Trainers can also purchase special event bundles and an Ultra Community Day Box in the Pokémon GO Web Store for exclusive items. Despite Vanillite’s mixed reception, the upcoming Community Day promises plenty of opportunities to stock up on this unusual Pokémon.
