Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders May Open on April 9
A well-known industry insider has revealed that pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. could begin on April 9. This information comes from Tom Henderson, who claims to have seen internal retailer documentation. The pre-order date may vary by country, with Best Buy Canada already announcing its own pre-order opening on April 2.
Nintendo has kept details about the Switch 2 under wraps since its announcement on January 16, but a Nintendo Direct on April 2 is expected to provide more information. This event will likely include pricing details, a look at the console’s launch game lineup, and possibly new features, such as a mysterious button on the right Joy-Con.
The Switch 2 is also rumored to have a June 2025 release date, with analysts expecting it to be priced between $399 and $499, making it potentially Nintendo’s most expensive console yet. The official launch will be international, though not all countries may receive the console on the same day.
Stay tuned for more updates following the Nintendo Direct on April 2.
