Bungie Confirms *Marathon* Won’t Launch on Switch 2 (For Now)

Bungie has confirmed that its upcoming sci-fi extraction shooter *Marathon* will not be coming to Nintendo’s next-gen console, the Switch 2—at least not at launch.

In a recent interview with *Famitsu*, Game Director Joe Ziegler stated that *Marathon* is currently only planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. However, he did leave a small window open, saying the team may consider a Switch 2 port in the future.

This news may disappoint Nintendo fans who had hoped *Marathon* would be part of the Switch 2’s third-party lineup. The game’s clean visual style and lack of graphic violence made it seem like a good fit for Nintendo’s platform.

Speculation had grown stronger earlier this year when rumors suggested Bungie’s other title, *Project Gummy Bears*, might be targeting the Switch. That led some to believe *Marathon* could follow.

Bungie has previously said a Switch port of *Destiny 2* was unrealistic, and a similar situation may apply here. If a port does happen, it likely wouldn’t arrive until late 2026 or 2027, well after the game’s official release in September 2025.

For now, *Marathon* fans on Nintendo will have to wait and see.
