Zelda: Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition Priced at $69.99, Full Experience Costs $90
Nintendo is re-releasing *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* for the Switch 2 on June 5, but fans may be surprised by the price tag. The updated version will cost $69.99, $10 more than the original Switch release from 2017.
This Switch 2 Edition comes with performance upgrades and support for the new “Zelda Notes” feature, which adds achievements and gameplay tips through the Nintendo Switch app. However, the $70 version does **not** include the game’s post-launch DLC.
Players wanting the complete *Breath of the Wild* experience—including *The Master Trials* and *The Champions’ Ballad* expansions—will need to purchase the $20 Expansion Pass separately. That brings the total cost to $90 for the full package.
There is a small silver lining: owners of the original Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition for $10. Additionally, players subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack tier can access the upgrade at no extra cost.
Despite being over eight years old, *Breath of the Wild* continues to demand a premium—but at least some upgrade options make the price a bit easier to swallow.
