Oblivion Remastered Player Finds Game-Breaking Alchemy Glitch

A player of *The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered* has discovered a serious alchemy glitch that causes potions to weigh an unusually heavy five pounds each, creating a major issue for gameplay.

Reddit user ProfessionalPSD shared their experience after reaching Alchemy level 100 in the remastered RPG. They explained that crafting a Fatigue Potion using a pumpkin resulted in the potion weighing five pounds. Shockingly, all future potions—regardless of the ingredient—also had the same excessive weight.

This bug poses a problem for players, as inventory weight limits are crucial in *Oblivion*, and carrying multiple five-pound potions can quickly over-encumber characters. ProfessionalPSD ended up reverting to an earlier save, losing an hour of progress.

Some players suggested odd workarounds, such as renaming the potion, which reportedly fixed the issue for a few users. While the glitch is frustrating, many in the community found humor in the bizarre fix and shared similar stories of strange bugs in Bethesda games.

Despite this hiccup, *Oblivion Remastered* continues to perform well, hitting four million players across platforms and becoming the third best-selling game of 2025 so far, behind *Monster Hunter Wilds* and *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*. Rumors also hint at a potential release on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, though no official announcement has been made.

Fans are still enjoying the classic RPG’s return, but those diving into alchemy may want to save often—just in case.
