A dedicated Nintendo fan is already camping out in front of the Nintendo New York store to be first in line for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, which is set to release on June 5. YouTuber ChickenDog, known for waiting in line for previous Nintendo releases, including *The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom* and *Pikmin 4*, revealed he started his wait on April 5, giving him exactly two months before the Switch 2 launch.
In his latest update, ChickenDog assured his followers that he has accommodations booked, including an Airbnb and a hotel room, along with friends helping to hold his spot when needed. He plans to document his experience over the next two months, posting updates and videos of his time in line.
With the Nintendo Switch 2’s standard model priced at over $450, and bundles like the Mario Kart World edition around $500, ChickenDog is preparing for the highly anticipated launch, despite potential price changes due to recent tariff impacts. Nintendo’s official pre-orders for the Switch 2 will begin on April 9 in most regions, with the United States experiencing a delay due to tariff considerations.
