Switch 2 GameCube Controller Orders Begin May 8 for Select Users
Nintendo has announced that fans can begin ordering the new Switch 2 GameCube controller starting May 8, but only if they receive a special invite from Nintendo. The controller will cost \$64.99 and is exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members.
From May 8–12, those selected for Switch 2 pre-order invites will have early access to buy the GameCube controller directly from Nintendo. On May 13, all Switch Online members (excluding free trial users) will be eligible to purchase it, with a limit of one controller per account.
The wireless GameCube controller is expected to be popular, especially among Super Smash Bros. players and fans of classic GameCube titles launching with Switch 2. These include *F-Zero GX*, *The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker*, and *Soulcalibur 2*, with more titles like *Luigi’s Mansion* and *Pokemon Colosseum* coming later.
Controllers are likely to sell out fast, so fans should be ready when orders go live.
