We are less than two weeks away from an upcoming beat-em-up, The River City Girls, it is a spin-off game in the series of Kunio-Kun. The launch date is revealed that is 5 of September, developed by Way Forward and is going to be published by Arc System Works. Limited Run Games the video game distributor has taken the liberty time to release the physical game of beat-em-up. September 5, the launch date of River City Girls is for PC, Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Story

The game was in the process of development for three and a half years and now it is the time to go. Limited Run Games (LRG) has shared the news reminding their fans about the game’s premise “Two Street-tough high-schoolers who must fight their way through the six regions of River City to rescue their kidnapped boyfriends.” Way Forward has released the trailer of River City Girls, the series of Kunio-Kun. Pre-orders for the physical version of the game will be opened for a limited period starting on Friday, August 30.

Characters

• Kunio: Kunio is the leading character in the games of Kunio-Kun, voiced by Greg Chun.

• Riki: This is the new character in the game.
• Misuzu: This is the new character in the game and no other information is provided about this character.

As described by WayForward the character of Misako is “hot Blooded” like her friend Kyoko. Misako is aggressive as she has no patience on her classmates who come in her way, punching her boyfriend when he stole the last piece of food on which Misako and Kyoko were fighting over as seen in the trailer. It shows she is aggressive, impulsive, tough and always ready to get in a fight with others.

Gameplay

• At the starting of the game the player has the option of selecting the number of players either one or two, difficulty level i.e. normal & hard, another selection is of friendly fire either enable or disable. Then comes the final selection where players can choose the character either Kyoko or Misako.
• Players can enter in various shops to get items, purchase food, gear, and weapons to learn new abilities and increase their stats. Some areas have Sabu statues which are broke able if all the 25 statues will be broken, the player gets rewarded.
• Most areas have the combats initiated that every player has to cross like in earlier games of Kunio-Kun, the player have to defeat the enemies as the character is unable to leave the area.
