THE SIMS 4 NEIGHBORHOOD STORIES GETS NEW UPDATE

The Neighborhood Stories program has been updated since The Sims 4 was introduced last November. This system allows Sims to have more control over their lives. Neighborhood Stories allows Sims to see their neighbors and live in a different environment.

Neighborhood Stories was introduced in a update. This was the first step towards introducing the new system. There were plans to expand the system as time passed. This allowed players to make decisions about non-playable Sims. Do they want to make friends with another Sim or not? Should they switch careers? Do they want to start a relationship? These decisions were up to the player. You could say no if you didn’t wish for anything to be changed. Although Neighborhood Stories was not the same as Story Progression from The Sims 3 it was still something. With this latest update, it seems like it will be closer to Story Progression.

Neighborhood Stories can have an impact on your Sims, both pre-made and created.

How do the new Neighborhood Stories work? It affects all NPC Sims. This is the first major change to the system. Neighborhood Stories had only been available to Sims who knew them. NPC Sims can now have more. This is the second noteworthy update. It was small things like getting to know another Sim or considering a career change. Your neighbors can experience major life changes. You can have a child with your partner, adopt a child/toddler/baby, change jobs, retire (if you’re an Elder Sim), or move houses. They can also die from injuries. NPCs are also allowed to adopt a cat and dog if Cats and Dogs are installed.

These changes can be quite significant. What happens if you don’t want your Sim to move or die? You can prevent this from happening. You can also turn Neighborhood Stories completely off if you don’t want anything to happen. You can also adjust the system to make changes that you wish to see… or not. This can be done by going to Manage Worlds and accessing the Neighborhood Stories menu. You’ll be able to see all of the possible changes when you open this menu. You can toggle on the changes highlighted in green, or you can choose to disable them. Click on specific changes to toggle them. It’s as easy as that!

How about the households you have created vs. other houses? Each group can have its own Neighborhood Stories. Neighborhood Stories is automatically disabled for any households you create. This means that your hard work won’t be lost if something happens. Neighborhood Stories can be disabled for pre-made homes like the Goths or Pancakes.

Want even more control? You can modify the Neighborhood Stories settings of individual households! You can change the Neighborhood Stories settings to make certain changes, such as deaths, for a particular family. The Manage Households menu allows you to change the settings for each household. You can find the Neighborhood Stories settings on the tab for each household.

You’ve got Neighborhood Stories up and running, but how can you find out what’s happening, especially with Sims you haven’t met yet? Live Mode allows you to easily see what’s happening in the world and with other Sims. Simply select the mailbox on the Sim’s property, and then choose “Check Recent Neighborhood Stories”. You’ll then see pop-up messages at the top-right of your screen advising you about any recent changes. This will let you know who has been affected and the changes that have occurred.

The mailbox can be used to keep you informed about the lives of your neighbours.

Neighborhood Stories has not been updated. However, you will still receive the old NPC Sims messages about life changes. Even if you disable the new system from the settings, this will still happen.

With the latest update to Sims 4, the new Neighborhood Stories system is easy to use and flexible. It also gives you lots more control. There are more updates to Neighborhood Stories, but this is a first step. This feature was very popular in The Sims 3, and has been in high demand in The Sims 4.
