Here are the reasons M. Bison may not appear in Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6‘s roster has more than likely leaked. But there is one major omission: M. Bison, series antagonist. While we don’t have much information about the story behind the upcoming fighting game we do know that we might be able to gain some insight into why Bison isn’t on the roster. Street Fighter 6 takes place after Street Fighter III in the timeline.

The story of Street Fighter is important, regardless of whether you care about it. It often determines the roster for a lot of fighting games. Street Fighter has been bouncing around with each number entry, which has allowed it to revisit other characters and slot in new characters without too much disruption. Bison has been killed multiple times in Street Fightercontinuity. However, it seemed to die most decisively in Street Fighter V’s “A Shadows Fall” story mode. Moving forward in the canon gives the game the opportunity to explore new ideas. Street Fighter 6 follows Street Fighter III as the latest game in the timeline. This means that M. Bison might not appear this time. He may not be available at launch. He could still be added as DLC. This timeline was confirmed by Takayuki Nakayama, Game Director of Street Fighter’s social channels in a quote about Ryu in Street Fighter 6.
