The Suffering game (Gameplay)
Carnate Island is the setting for the main story. It’s a prison island where felons are mostly incarcerated.
Torque (the player’s character) is placed on death row for the alleged murder of his family at the start of the game.
The earth begins to shake shortly after Torque enters his cell. Lights go out, and death screams echo in the darkness.
Torque is freed from his cell when an unknown force blows open the door. The island is overrun with nightmarish monsters, most of whom are personifications for various forms of execution.
Torque is unsure of what reality is and what’s madness. He tries to get away from the island but is unable. The Suffering Game: As Torque, you have the option to choose good or evil in many key scenes, such as when a survivor approaches him and asks for his help. How the player acts in each scene affects how the story progresses and ends.
