Electronic Croatian Croteam created this first-person shooter (with the option of playing in the third person). Serious Sam was originally only available for PCs, but its popularity led to ports for Xbox, GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox Live Arcade, among other platforms.
This game is based on the exploits of Sam “Serious Stone” in his battle against the evil extraterrestrial leader Mental who wants to wipe out the human race.
Serious Sam is a first-person shooter in the same style as Doom or Quake. The player can avoid enemies by jumping and dodging sideways.
The game’s phases can provide items that will restore life and armor. On the screen, you can see how much life or armor is left. The combat is fast-paced and intense. Stages are usually a collection of carefully designed arenas where the player has to defeat several enemies in order to progress. Ammo and weapons are plentiful.
