Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour is an action strategy video game featuring US forces beginning their campaign based on GLA’s success from previous game. The GLA uses Baikonur Cosmodrome to launch toxic missiles at US naval bases located throughout Northern Europe, prompting their response before another missile can be fired off by GLA forces. An attempt by China at infiltrating and assaulting the base had failed, so the US utilized their powerful arsenal in order to break through and overpower and destroy a missile silo using a B-2 Bomber. United Nations Relief effort in Mogadishu becomes complicated when GLA attacks make relief efforts difficult to execute, necessitating aerial cover for US forces as they attack secret GLA bases, where unwittingly they discover documents related to Dr. Mohamud Ali (Bin Laden) at GLA bases nearby. A US carrier group provides aerial cover as US troops raid secret GLA bases, unwittingly uncovering evidence pertaining to Bin Laden (Dr. Ali). Thrax, an GLA General and scientist who plans on producing Anthrax Gamma Toxins. US documents reveal that Dr.
Thrax maintains a secret laboratory atop Mount Elbrus. A team led by Colonel Burton sets off with plans to destroy it while liberating captured prisoners of war on its path; Chinese intelligence agent “Black Lotus” collects intelligence across a river dividing this region from his position across from it. US forces launch an invasion on Iranian oil fields to fund Dr. Thrax’s toxin program; however, soon afterwards it becomes evident that Dr. Thrax already created his agent and plans to fire missiles carrying it at major US cities. An American led assault on Dr. Thrax’s complex, supported by disillusioned GLA separatists, enabled the US forces to capture missile sites before their launch and it is presumed that Dr. Thrax died as part of this assault.
