Red Alert 2, a Strategy Video Game. It is the main goal of the game to destroy enemy bases and force them to surrender. This can be done by either AI opponents or humans. The players must defend their bases in order to continue to be able to produce and collect units.
Both are necessary to achieve the game’s main goal. After all the enemy commanders are defeated, there is a declared winner. The game revolves around the collecting of money. Money can be collected in the game by many different methods. Most commonly, miner trucks are used to transport ore (or gems) to refineries. Oil derricks, neutral buildings present on some maps, can be captured by players to earn a steady income.
For Allied players and Soviets, there are also two sources of one-time money: collecting random crates that are on the map or selling buildings controlled by the player. The third source of money for Allied players is to use a spy and steal money from an opponent. Money is used to construct and repair buildings and units. Players can start building before they have enough money to cover the cost.
Construction will simply stop if there is not enough. All the nations in the game are either allied or Soviet, and are loosely based off the Cold War factions. Red Alert 2, compared to the first Red Alert, was praised for the greater impact of playing as one of several countries. Each nation, while having the same basic units and buildings, has its own unique ability or structure.
