Fallout: The Wilderness mod offers players an entirely new world to discover in Fallout 4.
Starfield may only just be around the corner, but some gamers are already anticipating future Bethesda titles.
Bethesda recently confirmed The Elder Scrolls VI would be their follow up project following Starfield and that Fallout 5 won’t come out until after Skyrim 2. Unfortunately for Fallout fans waiting long-term will have a very long wait until seeing their favorite main entry!
Fallout fans don’t need to rely on Bethesda exclusively in order to enjoy Fallout; total conversion mods offer new quests, experiences and content – which makes the decision-making easier for Bethesda itself!
Fallout: The Wilderness stands out among my favorites because of its impressive mod, offering players access to an expansive new area to explore.
Features of Fallout: New Vegas include an open world as expansive as Fallout 4’s Nuka Worldl, filled with abandoned buildings, forests and lakes as well as plenty of hidden secrets waiting for exploration. Plus there are 12 distinct settlements each filled with its own characters and tales as well as an “horror themed” main quest!
Not content to stop there, you can also acquire new music, weapons and armour – everything needed for Fallout fans looking for some respite! This app truly delivers.
El Ha, the creator of this mod, notes The Wilderness was designed specifically with survival players in mind; thus do not expect an action-packed gun-slinging thrillfest when entering The Wilderness; its focus lies more with managing resources wisely and playing smart – classic Fallout in other words!
Bethesda has yet to unveil its plans for their upcoming Fallout game; I can only speculate as to their goals here and hope they take inspiration from Fallout London, an excellent total conversion mod, for their inspiration on creating something familiar yet unexpected in terms of design.
Bethesda RPG fans can look forward to Starfield for now; with over 1,000 open planets waiting to be discovered in Starfield alone, we should have plenty to occupy our time until Fallout 5 releases later in 2016.
