Grand Theft Auto fans have experienced an agonizing week waiting for GTA VI news.

Industry insiders and purported leakers convinced many that we would receive the trailer for GTA VI either Tuesday 24 October or Thursday 26 October – yet still nothing. As it stands now on this Friday evening we still don’t have one; perhaps Rockstar Games are pulling an elaborate hoax?

Good news – one of the more worrying GTA VI rumours has been disproven! Recently, age rating leaked as being only 15+ alongside what appeared to be an eventual release date of 2024; but as it turns out this leak was false alarm.

Australian Age Rating Board responded to PCGamesN’s inquiry about Grand Theft Auto 6 with this statement from their spokesperson: “Unfortunately, its classification record on the National Classification Database was incorrect and as such has now been removed from their website.”

Unfortunately, we still are unsure if 2024 will indeed be an exact release date of GTA VI; however, that said we think its likelihood as being released before 15+ is fairly remote.

Given that both GTA V and Online were both rated MA18+, it seemed unexpected when we learned GTA VI would only be 15+ rated. Although not an alarming shift towards an increasingly younger target demographic, some fans expressed concerns that its tone might become less sharp over time – something GTA VI surely will not do! I suspect its tone will remain just as crude, anarchic, and outrageous!
