The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s demise can be blamed its failure on Modern Warfare 2’s budget
Every year since it was first introduced at the time of its inception, Activision has graced us with the latest instalment in the Call of Duty franchise, and 2023 will be no different.
The majority of the time The newly-released Call of Duty games have everything that fans want an exciting, high-octane single-player experience, an impressive traditional multiplayer experience, and based on the sub-series the classic Zombies. However, in the single-player mode the game the latest instalment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was an unpopular low for the franchise and, by the majority of accounts, it hasn’t been particularly well received by the public.
In my analysis of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, I have rated the game as 5/10 noting, “In a year that has brought us so much joy with some amazing video game releases, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III somehow manages to lower the tone.”
Within a few days of its release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III received a Metacritic score of (now) 55 which means the game can’t go any further surely? It did not, at least as per its fans. Apart from the score from critics of 53, the users of Metacritic have given Modern Warfare III at 1.7 which makes it the lowest-rated Call of Duty ever.
What is the reason been the case that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III received such a poor reception? Many have blamed it on its brief campaign and others claim the possibility that it was most likely an expansion prior to its transformation into an independent game.
It appears, however, according to a tweet that was posted by the Twitter user Byeong Gyu Park which featured an image of a LinkedIn profile that was created by an alleged developer for Call of Duty. Call of Duty series, Call of Duty fans blame the demise of Modern Warfare III on the MWII budget of 250 million MWII(2022).
“I’m going to guess Modern Warfare III’s budget was much smaller,” Tae Kim said. Tae Kim. “That’s in fact less than what I had hoped for. But I’m guessing that this marketing plan was enormous,” said Bendji Nzau. If these numbers are accurate, then it is likely that this was an important factor in the game’s failures. In any case, it’s true that the short period of producing an annual new game isn’t helping matters.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
