The system of combat in OMORI is shown through classic battles that are based on turns. The effects, rules, and debuffs represent the main aspects that the games are based on. The character’s stature is determined by real-life emotional states and experience.

In the course of the battle there’s a distinct battle window is displayed, showing aspects of the battle, both for the character in the center and also the adversaries. Each fight is awarded experiences, which are invested in improving combat, defense, or strength as well as in defending against harmful effects or passive talents for the heroes.

Instead of the normal capabilities, abilities, and skills players in the game battle with their emotions. They defend and attack themselves while expressing their thoughts as well as their experiences, and feelings of inspiration.
