World of Warcraft Classic to Add New UI Feature for Easier Game Mode Switching
World of Warcraft Classic is introducing a new user interface (UI) feature that will make it easier for players to switch between different game modes while logged in. The new feature, a banner located at the top of the character select screen, will allow players to quickly toggle between various Classic Era modes, including Classic Era, Hardcore, Season of Discovery, and the 20th Anniversary realms.
This new system simplifies the process significantly compared to the current method, which requires navigating through multiple menus or logging out to change modes. The banner will include options for modes, the in-game shop, and a menu, allowing for a smoother and more seamless experience.
Currently, this feature is only available on the Season of Discovery Phase 8 Public Test Realm, and it is not applicable to progression realms, such as those transitioning from WoW: Cataclysm to Mists of Pandaria. However, it is expected to be fully implemented in the live game by the launch of World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery Phase 8 on April 8, 2025. While Blizzard has not formally announced this update, it is likely to become available soon.
