Fans agree SSX Tricky reboot would be an overwhelming success, calling it an instant “mega hit.”
EA Sports fans have demanded a return of EA Snowboarding game series SSX starting with SSX Tricky.
Not all EA Sports fans are satisfied with annual releases of Fifa, Madden and NHL; some gamers remain hopeful for an appearance from one of its long-forgotten series such as SSX.
SSX (Snowboarding Series Championships) last saw action back in 2012. Players would ride down snow-covered slopes on various boards with the intent of accomplishing objectives or beating time trials and amassing points for victory.
Successful games from these series included collaborations with Nintendo; Mario and some of his friends featured as playable characters in SSX on Tour for GameCube, for instance.
OGReverandMaynard recently started a Reddit thread discussing SSX Tricky 2, the second installment in the SSX franchise, that read, in part: “I believe an SSX Tricky reboot with 4 player multiplayer that allows people to mix-and-match local and online play would be hugely successful”.
“I remember fondly playing SSX Tricky for PS2, one of my all-time favourite games – so would be delighted if there was ever an official PS5 version made.”
Fans were in agreement as well, many envisioning revival of certain sport/extreme sport titles – whether by way of series continuation or remakes.
“Yes, please give me the SSX Tricky, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing and NBA/NFL Street!”
“Wow, did I enjoy that game! Even though snowboarding wasn’t something I cared much for in real life, this simulation still won me over!
“Man, I want to go play SSX 3 again and experience that grand mountain ride from peak 3 all the way down to Peak 1. I got it on sale years ago for Xbox and still go back regularly”
EA Sports titles were truly top of their game; so, it would be great if some came back for another go – particularly considering Fifa and Madden still perform relatively well on modern consoles.
