Offworld Trading Company (RTS) is a video game that Mohawk Games developed. Stardock published it. Mars is the setting for this game. Offworld Trading Company is a game of economic warfare that includes hostile takeovers and sabotage. Offworld Trading Company places the player in control of one of four off-world trading businesses. After they look at the map for the first time, the players can choose their faction. This allows them to adapt their choices to each situation.
Players can land their HQ, regardless of their choice, and start building resource extractors in the surrounding hexes. The game has thirteen resources. The hexes that have these resources can extract water, aluminium, iron, silicon, and carbon. A power plant can be built to generate power. Limitations are depending on which type of power plant is being constructed. It is often used to power buildings. Steel mills are used to make steel from iron.
Farmers make food from the water. Hydrolysis reactors separate water into oxygen and fuel. Glass kilns make glass from silicon and oxygen. Electronics are made from silicon, carbon and aluminium in electronic factories. Chemical refineries make chemicals from fuel and carbon. The final step is to sell your resources stockpiles.
