5 MAJOR GAME RELEASES IN DECEMBER 2021
While December’s games aren’t as exciting as those from the previous months, there is still a good selection of games to choose from. This month is one of the most varied in terms of game genres. You will find something for everyone, no matter if you’re more into horror or single-player adventures. These are the top game releases for December 2021.
1. LIFE IS STRONG: TRUE COLORS
We start with the story-driven, single-player adventure Life is Strange 5. Life is Strange: True Color is a graphic adventure developed by Deck Nine and published in Square Enix. It will be available on the Nintendo Switch in early December.
The story is told in the third person and follows Alex Chen, a young girl who can feel the emotions of others while trying to solve the mystery surrounding her brother’s murder. The game is set in Haven Springs, a fictional place where players can explore different locations and interact with non-playable characters. This is a hallmark of Life is Strange.
Alex can manipulate emotions and can perceive them as auras. Alex can use these auras to create “novas” that transform the world around her. They reflect the trauma of the character and allow the player to determine the cause.
2. AMONG US
On December 14th, the online social deduction game that took over the world in 2020 will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5 and the Xbox Series X/S and One. The game was created by a small team of developers from Innersloth, but it only became popular in 2020.
Even though you probably already know the basics of the game, I will give you a brief overview. Among Us is a game where up to 15 people have to work together to complete various tasks on the map to win. One or two of the 15 impostors are crewmates. The goal of the imposters is to eliminate all crewmates before they can finish all tasks. They don’t want to get kicked by other players during voting sessions where everyone can discuss their feelings and expel those they consider traitors.
Players can fight it out on the floating “MIRAHQ,” “Polus” planet station, and the “Airship.”
3. HALO INFINITE
After many delays, the most anticipated game of 2021 will finally be released on December 8th for Windows, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. Halo Infinite was developed by 343 Industries and published by Xbox Game Studios.
This first-person shooter is Halo’s sixth main entry. It continues Master Chief’s story and provides a more central continuation. The protagonist will be set in a damaged Halo Ring and face the Banished, who return to their antagonist role.
A large number of vehicles and weapons will be returning from previous Halo games like Warthog. You can also use several abilities specific to Master Chief, such as Grapple Shot or Thruster, to pull yourself towards enemies and retrieve items. The multiplayer section of the game, unlike previous installments, is completely free to play.
4. TRASH SAILORS
Trash Sailors is a co-op survival game for those who love it. Trash Sailors, a co-op survival video game developed by Fluckymachine, will be available for PC on December 16th.
The game features a unique, hand-drawn style of art. It places you and three friends in a situation where a tsunami of trash has overflowed the globe. Your team must build a raft from the many trash items in the water. One must also avoid being eaten by dangerous monsters like toxic sharks or swamp crocodiles.
5. FIVE NIGHTS IN FREDDY’S: SILVER BREACH
Fear not, I didn’t forget you horror fans. Five Nights At Freddy’s Security Breach, a survival horror video game by Steel Wool Studios, will be available on PC and PlayStation 4 and 5, December 16th.
Unlike previous installments, the game takes place at a mall where a boy named Gregory is locked up and must survive murderous animatronics. Glamrock Freddy and Glamrock Chica are back.
Gregory must complete several missions to escape from the mall. The night progresses, and all enemies become stronger, so it is up to the player to use their surroundings to their advantage to survive. Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach, unlike previous installments, allows for free-roaming and combat. There are also new boss battles and arcade minigames.
