Phasmophobia has been around for a while now. However, Kinetic Games still have plenty of plans to celebrate its second anniversary. Kinetic Games announced that they are planning to update the VR experience, create custom difficulty options, overhaul leveling systems, and add more equipment to the ghost hunting.

We’ve seen many additions to Phasmophobia by 2021. Kinetic has shared their roadmap 2022 as they close another year of haunts. Their plan to rework VR includes new interactions, visuals, and Unity updates. This is like what we saw in previous overhauls that focused on improving Phas play, such as the Extension update. Kinetic also works to get some early access to the game.

Ghost-hunting (identifying?) Adventures will also receive customized difficulty adjustments. The revamped main menu will allow players to change evidence requirements, ghost interaction rates, and hunt durations. They can also toggle flashlight toggles. All of this sounds like what the community has wanted since day one. However, flashlight changes are a time to make everyone miserable in darkness.

The roadmap’s progression section outlines many upgrades and additions. Kinetic will increase your equipment loadout Phasmophobia. This is not surprising, as the game also has a major leveling system upgrade. The overhaul will remove all ghost hunter levels. However, it isn’t a huge loss considering how many people have climbed the ranks because of problems with hack lobbies. A refresh would be a good idea.

The developer of Kinetic’s official Discord noted that new objectives, player models, and animations are in the works. However, this does not mean that any other changes you have heard about are abandoned. CJ Dixon, Phasmophobia’s lead artist, wrote, “Don’t worry. Other updates like Horror 2.0 and new maps, map revisions (and many more) are still in the works.

Kinetic claims they are focused on a realistic plan and want to play it safe, but I see their roadmap and realize it is already so large. I don’t think anyone should scale this back. Phasmophobia was a top-rated game in 2020. It remains a favorite of mine as the studio keeps bringing us new updates and making life better. I will be ready to hunt more demons in abandoned campsites as soon as the custom difficulty option is available.
