Major WWE UK Pay Per View Set for September 2022

WWE UK fans can rest easy tonight, as a massive pay-per-view has been confirmed. Over the course of 2021, rumours began to circulate about WWE wanting to bring a major event in the UK, specifically to rival AEW’s All Out weekend. It seems that a date has been set after all the confusion about global travel and other roadblocks.

Sources claim that the long-awaited event will be held at Principality Stadium in Wales on September 3. This could be the largest stadium event outside of the USA in years. The last major UK pay per view event was over 30 years ago.

Many WWE fans will be familiar with the 1992 SummerSlam at Wembley. It is uncertain if this event will be a sequel to that iconic summer blockbuster. Given the date, it seems more likely that it will be the next pay-per-view to SummerSlam. WWE is looking to book as many stars as possible to make this a major competitor to AEW’s largest show of the year.

Drew McIntyre, a former WWE Champion, has already called out Tyson Fury, a UK boxing legend, for a match at the event. This is a precedent for an impressive star-studded show. Although WWE has yet to confirm the date, event and lineup, I expect them to do so in the near future.
