Video gaming fans have taken note, hailing 2018 as an exceptional year of AAA releases.
There have been an array of incredible games released over the past couple years and even more anticipated for 2023. Though 2023 will certainly see major releases as well, gamers often look back to previous years for inspiration; most notably 2018, which many consider one of their finest.
Reddit user HumanOverseer posted an item called, ‘Five Years Ago, the Gaming Industry Decided to Drop Banger After Banger.” In support of his claim were five games: Marvel’s Spider-Man, God Of War (2018), Detroit: Become Human, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Red Dead Redemption 2, all which are remarkable titles themselves.
As is to be expected, gamers were quick to praise that year’s games, particularly Red Dead Redemption 2. “2018 was such an awesome year!” one fan exclaimed; another acknowledged: “Cannot believe RDR2 has already been around five years.” Another fan stated: “Just finished RDR2 and found its story-wise narrative so incredible and immersive; both end before epilogue scenes hit home for me so deeply; overall an absolutely brilliant gaming experience!”
