Game Of Thrones fans are bewildered at the lack of high budget AAA game adaptation.
Game of Thrones was unquestionably an unforgettable series. Although its final season did have some criticisms (but I still found much enjoyment), as an overall series it marked generation-defining TV, and I doubt we’ll witness anything of such scale again anytime soon.
House of the Dragon does exist – yes it does – though I still think its first season was an incredible success, it still needs time to build upon Game of Thrones’ reputation and interest from later seasons. That being said, potential is there and more spinoffs such as Jon Snow will soon follow; more spin-offs like House of Cards might make sense too; for example its creators must come up with engaging stories for this series that capture viewers attention just like Game of Thrones did during its later seasons. Want a blast from the past? The Battle of Bastards premiered back seven years ago so fans want an answer as to why its creators never gave it AAA gaming treatment like Thrones did before it.
Reddit user tastyjams2 suggested this idea on Reddit by writing, “Why has there never been a big-budget video game release? Just imagine all of the cash this would bring in if done well! When my show ended over 10 years ago I couldn’t find any decent games; therefore this idea appeals to many fans.” Plenty of others agreed as well and have expressed similar enthusiasm about seeing such an endeavor created!
Cash_jc noted, “Looking back at how successful Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter franchises were, there were multiple possibilities of how it might play out – some very promising but some less so – which may or may not follow exactly. Maybe something that adds onto or expands upon their lore would be pretty awesome”; whil resentment proposed “BioWare/Mass Effect style choices with consequences similar to Elden Ring: multiple main character storylines in one playthrough with artwork/theme comparable.” Both players would play through and consider playing it themselves!
MephistosFallen suggested an open world/sim type game with storyline similar to HP or Fable could prove popular with fans, perhaps one where all your actions have consequences and you choose your allies and your house of origin (we hope there must be studio somewhere developing similar ideas!). We think such ideas exist somewhere.
