Jak & Daxter fans are pleading with Naughty Dog to bring back this beloved series.
Naughty Dog fans have long demanded the return of Jak & Daxter series since 2009. No new release for Jak & Daxter since 2009.
Naughty Dog is responsible for some of gaming’s greatest franchises ever created, like Crash Bandicoot, Uncharted, and of course The Last Of Us. Their developers rarely miss when it comes to new releases – fans believe one series from Naughty Dog – Jak & Daxter has been missing too long now!
Starting on PlayStation 2, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy follows two unlikely heroes with similar names in a collectathon game with 3D platforming elements. Players must locate certain objects per area to move along their quest while mastering magical powers to help.
Though receiving great review scores with each installment, Jak & Daxter seemed to fade from public consciousness after 2009 with Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier’s release and has yet to make an appearance again since.
Reddit user TheUndeadGunslinger and fans like them want that to change by posting a thread with these sentiments: “I wish Naughty Dog would at least acknowledge Jak & Daxter more. It seems they are rather ashamed about them!”
Fans of the series expressed similar excitement. Many also wanted it back as either an extension of its current timeline, or as a complete remake.
“From what I understand, Naughty Dog had begun development on a new Jak and Daxter PS3 game shortly after the success of their Uncharted trilogy; but after progress was made into it they realized this project would only benefit themselves and its fan base if abandoned altogether.”
“Jak and Daxter was one of the pioneering open world games without loading screens, making it one of the most significant video game series of all time; for me personally it ranks second only behind Zelda”.
“Dude, Jak 3 was unfair” Although no new projects for Jak & Daxter are planned by Naughty Dog at present, its legacy still lives on through other Naughty Dog games; most notably The Last Of Us Part 1, where numerous in-game cosmetics feature Jak & Daxter characters. That being said, it would be great to witness another revival similar to Ratchet & Clank games.
