Replayability in video games is something we all look forward to; alternative outcomes provide even more reasons to experience things differently and explore possibilities in our gaming sessions.

Video games such as The Quarry, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Oxenfree II: Lost Signals offer different outcomes based on our actions and choices during their story campaigns.

“Baldur’s Gate III is an immersive party-based RPG in the Dungeons & Dragons world where your choices determine an epic tale of friendship and betrayal, sacrifice and ultimate power,” according to its synopsis.

Baldur’s Gate III promises to take this multiple ending formula one step further with apparently 17,000 possible endings compared to The Quarry’s impressive 186 possible. Would it even be possible for players to see all 17,000 endings?

Fextralife conducted a YouTube interview with Baldur’s Gate III writer Chrystal Ding that revealed this fact; more specifically it has 17,000 different variant endings as opposed to being completely unique endings; nevertheless it remains impressive!

Ding also revealed that Baldur’s Gate III features 174 hours of cinematics and 22 subclasses. Recently it has also been confirmed that this RPG requires approximately 200 hours to finish a full playthrough; such an astounding level of depth demonstrates Larian Studios developers’ undeniable passion and love in creating it.

Baldur’s Gate III will debut for PC users on 3 August 2023 and PlayStation 5 users on 6 September.
