Starfield fans are anticipating its highly-anticipated release with much excitement, anticipating hours upon hours spent exploring Bethesda’s space-exploration game.

Starfield will launch in a few short weeks and fans are beyond ecstatic about getting their hands on it; some lucky individuals have even begun playing through early.

Bethesda promises the largest game ever created by their studio and will push open-world gaming to unprecedented levels, many believing it to be contender for Game of the Year. Players will have their own starship that they can use to explore over 1000 planets each offering its own form of sentient life or civilisations to explore.

Now however, fans are becoming concerned over just how much of their freetime the game may consume due to all there is to see and do within its galaxy. Although its main story may be relatively brief, exploration likely takes up most of your playtime – each planet offering bigger maps than Skyrim promises so you may end up exploring for hours at a time!

Reddit user Honoka31 expressed their fear in an open thread on Reddit by writing: “After having spent over 1200+ hours playing Fallout 3, New Vegas 4, 76 & Starfield I am scared for Starfield as Bethesda always creates worlds that I become deeply invested in.

Fans felt similarly, recalling past Bethesda titles they played through and how much time they planned to invest into Starfield. One fan exclaimed “Bethesda has taken years away from me with Starfield; Bethesda is taking over my life for sure,” while another expressed similar sentiment. Starfield will no doubt take over many lives for at least some months,” they concluded.

“Your numbers are pretty average for being rookies – increase them and you have about 50 days left before testing!” wrote one user.

Starfield will launch later this year exclusively for Xbox Series X/S consoles and PC. It is set for an anticipated September 6 release date.
