Call of Duty fans are demanding a remake for the original Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty’s fans believe that Modern Warfare 3 needs a remake a decade after its release.
It’s funny that there has been so much talk this week about Call of Duty : Modern Warfare III, but this isn’t the remake everyone wants. It’s actually the third installment in the Modern Warfare rebooted series, which started with Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019). Someone from Activision should do more than just change all the numbers in those titles to Roman numerals to differentiate them.
After rumours the alleged first-look for Modern Warfare III was leaked on the web this week. Activision issued a DMCA to remove any semblance from the Internet. The DMCA notice referred to it as Call of Duty Modern Warfare III. My friends, take note of the Roman numerals – Activision has accidentally confirmed that the game exists.
Modern Warfare 3 is what fans really want. On Change.org there is a petition to “remaster COD MW3 to PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X”. At the time this article was written, over 4000 people had signed it.
It is strange that Modern Warfare 3 has not received the same remaster treatment as the two original Modern Warfare titles did, in 2016, and 2020. If the four-year gap in release dates is any indication, maybe Modern Warfare 3 enthusiasts will be lucky in 2024. It’s just speculation but it would seem that the game is due at some time.
Activision is yet to confirm the name of Call of Duty’s next game, but we will keep an eye on this. You can sign the Modern Warfare 3 Remaster petition here.
