Halo Reach’s heartbreaking end still affects fans despite being more than a decade older. It is also one of the most memorable in the entire series.

Everyone who enjoys video games must have played a game that stayed in their head for months, or years even after they played it.

Halo Reach, Bungie’s prequel to Halo, is considered by many to be a superior title.

Reddit user Supermarc03 shared this take when he started a thread asking players: “What games kept you thinking of it long after beating them?”

Over 1,000 people commented on the post, and many incredible franchises and games were mentioned, such as Persona 5 Royal, Ghost Of Tsushima and Red Dead Redemption 2, among others.

Fillavoid said: ” Reach. Current objective: Survive. I was stunned when the cutscene started. What happens to Noble Squad throughout the game? “So many surprises.”

The term “Filledavoid” refers to the last mission of Halo Reach, Lone Wolf. This final mission locks players in an impossible fight for survival, with limited ordnances, no allies, and no chance of winning. If you choose to fight to the end, your heads-up display will begin to warp and crack. Finally, you’ll be met with a brutal cutscene in which Covenant forces kill off your character.

It’s an amazing ending for a Halo game. Other Halo fans agree, with many saying Halo reach is one of, if not, the best in the series. This, they say, due to the emotional campaign, as well as the spectacular variety of missions.

One user said that Halsey’s final voiceover is very powerful. Jorge thought he’d saved everybody. Another user commented, “Still makes me feel sorry for him.” A third said, “One the best trailers made.” After watching the trailer, I bought reach even though I wasn’t a Halo fan.

The Halo Reach campaign still traumatizes players even after years of its release. It can be played via the Halo: Master Chief Collection on Xbox 360 and PC.
