Starfield’s Metacritic score keeps dropping and is on the verge of being pushed into the Top 50 games

Starfield can be said to be an incredible success. Yet the game is almost obliterated of the top 50 games in 2023 according to Metacritic.

Already, there are many who believe that 2023 is an important year for games. Starfield, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Assassin’s Creed Mirage Alan Wake 2, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores and Baldur’s Gate 3, Resident Evil 4 and Sea of Stars and Sea of Stars within that same year? Phwoar.

There are a lot of thrilling titles that I’ve not even discussed. In our 10-out-of-10 review of Starfield the game, we believed the game’s scale as “revolutionary” however its incredible size and narrative isn’t stopping it from sliding in on the charts. As reported by ComicBook its score is now 83 on Metacritic after a few reviewers have been leaking their reviews late.

Be aware that the score is for that of the Xbox edition of the game. It is the PC version is little better and has an the 87th percentile. This means that Starfield is currently the game with the 49th highest rating of this year and has nearly been pushed from the top 50.

The score of the user for this game stands at 6.6 on Xbox as well as 5.6 for PC. I’d suggest taking both scores with a grain of salt, however. There is a legitimate criticism of the game it’s clear that these scores are influenced with review-bombing.

In our article of the game, we stated, “Every now and then there is a game that arrives that transforms our view of what this industry has to offer. Starfield will be such a game. This goes beyond the concept of what we’ve come to consider an open world to be. Bethesda has built a universe that, despite its enormous dimension, retains interest and an amazing attention to details all through.”
