Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Release Date and Everything We Know
One of the primary advantages of owning a console over a PC is undoubtedly accessing exclusive console-exclusive games, like Spider-Man 2 on PS5. Now that it will also be released for PC players in 2023, many gamers are wondering whether they’d get to experience its fun as well.
Does Marvel’s Spider-Man come out for PC? Unfortunately, the answer to this question remains murky as there has been much discussion surrounding its availability on other platforms.
Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Be Available on PC?
Unfortunately, however, no. Insomniac Games’ tweet reveals that their game will launch exclusively for PS5 in fall 2023 and leave PS4 behind altogether.
At Summer Game Fest 2023, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be set for release on October 20, 2023.
As soon as the game’s PS5 version became available, no additional details about a potential PC version were shared.
While this news may come as a disappointment to PC gamers, there’s still hope that Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us Part 1 may make their way onto PC in due time. Given their history as PlayStation-exclusive games such as Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us Part 1, PC release dates should soon follow suit.
If that wasn’t enough, consider Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales games; both were PlayStation exclusives at launch but are currently available on PC as well.
Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan indicated during an interview with Famitsu translated by ResetEra that PC ports remain part of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s strategy, yet may launch long after PS5 versions, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s potential PC release.
“We fully recognize the significance of PS5 exclusive titles. As previously noted, PlayStation Studios’ primary role is to ensure people enjoy gaming experiences using our latest PlayStation. As part of that mission, we are expanding the number of exclusive PS5 titles while stagger releasing PC versions,” Ryan commented.
“When polling game fans about time lag issues, many indicate that selling PC versions two to three years after PS releases is widely welcomed by gamers.”
