Reddit discussions can bring back many fond memories. Recently, one user asked, “Are there any franchises where the second installment is usually considered their greatest?”

Age of Empires II remains popular after 23 years with over 1.9K users agreeing with Kiwi_OW’s suggestion: “Have been playing it since its original release and still love the Definitive Edition now – never gets boring; 10/10 best title in series!”

There were plenty of wonderful games mentioned after that; almost like an all-star list! Star Wars Battlefront 2 from 2005 is among them as is Titanfall 2, while @u/RayBanane asked “what better choice than Street Fighter II for consideration!”

Lists like this give an accurate picture of just how many sequels exist; likely more so than film sequels.

Redditors also suggested the following games: Silent Hill 2, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, Borderlands 2 and Assassin’s Creed 2 were suggested; one Redditor elaborated by saying this sequel “was nearly flawless, addressing all negatives from its predecessor while building upon what people liked about it”.

Portal 2, Diablo 2, and Halo 2 all made the cut, as did “I think Uncharted 2 was the peak of its series”, as suggested by several users; many agreed, noting its opening train scene as evidence. Surprisingly though, not many voted for Half Life 2 which seemed likely.

GAMINGbible team responded well to this query and gave some excellent answers – Resident Evil 2 on original PlayStation, Mass Effect 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, Fable 2, Red Dead Redemption 2. I thought more people would mention Red Dead Redemption 2, however!
