Harry Potter: Spinoff Game has now made it onto all platforms following its initial launch on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, then eventually arriving for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, before eventually reaching Nintendo Switch after several delays.
Fans were pleased with its performance; though many believe its release on Nintendo Switch was unnecessary since in order to run smoothly on that console it has to sacrifice seamless open world gameplay and feature additional loading screens than on other platforms.
Hogwarts Legacy has done exceptionally well commercially, becoming the best-selling game of 2018 as an overall franchise and with its Switch port becoming its third-biggest launch on that platform.
Mario Wonder and Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom stand as heavy competition against one another; nonetheless, its success can only be considered impressive; particularly given Harry Potter’s immense popularity across Japan where Nintendo Switch console is one of the two most-popular consoles (followed closely by Sony PS4).
Hogwarts Legacy’s success can’t change the fact it wasn’t nominated for any Game Awards; many fans were outraged over this fact; one streamer even held an online tantrum over this oversight!
Players have strongly condemned this exclusion as an injustice and consider themselves fully deserving of nominations despite JK Rowling’s links and potential controversial aspects to her work.
