Baldur’s Gate 3 could receive an updated with an all new ending soon.
Few would call Baldur’s Gate 3 an unmitigated disappointment, having launched this year promising romance, adventure, strange creatures, epic drama and much more besides. While its delivery has met all expectations so far – some fans might still find its ending incomplete; something which might be addressed through future updates.
Fans often think of “The Horniest Game of the Year,” however, as being more about romance than anything else. Yet it offers much more; with its main narrative and side quests weaving an emotional tale filled with both happiness and sorrow for one of its main characters in particular.

Karlach was a much-beloved companion from the game, yet her fateful ending left many heartbroken. This element has caused fans to vocalise their concerns – perhaps this explains Larian Studios’ tweets hinting at an alternative conclusion for Karlach in terms of party invites that read, “Withers’ Epilogue Party Extravaganza! You are Invited!,” as well as another one warning fans that there would be changes coming later on this month or week.
Larian Studios have put such great thought and work into this patch – as in each other one – that reinstalling could become necessary if space runs short; although I find such an approach unpleasant after having taken so long to download my initial copy onto PS5. Still, Larian has clearly invested much effort into their latest update patch just like they have with all four previous ones.
These posts don’t offer much in terms of evidence that Karlach’s unfair ending will be rectified; however, with Withers hosting an “epilogue party”, it would be devastatingly heart-rending if Karlach were left out from enjoying all that comes with this celebration.
Patch 5 should arrive sometime during the early part of next week if all goes according to plan, with many hopes being held out that it delivers everything we are hoping for in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3). Baldur’s Gate 3 certainly did not disappoint upon its initial launch this year with romance, adventure, unusual creatures and epic drama all guaranteed in equal measures; indeed many fans felt that its ending left something lacking; perhaps an issue which can be addressed via this new update?
Since many fans associate “Final Fantasy 14: Horniest Game of the Year” primarily with romantic or sexual content, fans typically focus on its romance/sexual aspects as the primary draws for themselves. Yet there’s so much more than meets the eye in its main narrative and various side quests which weave a tale that spans joy as well as sorrow – an element which seems particularly prevalent with one character in particular.
Karlach was an immensely beloved companion from the game, yet her tragic ending broke many people’s hearts. Players have spoken up loudly against this element of the game and Larian Studios may have sensed this sentiment through recent tweets that hinted at a possible new ending for Karlach – such as posting party invites reading “Withers’ Epilogue Party Extravaganza! You are invited!” and another warning them of big updates coming their way.
Larian Studios’ developers suggest uninstalling and then re-installing this update if space becomes tight; although I find the prospect distasteful after such an extended installation process on PS5. Still, Larian has clearly put considerable time and energy into creating this patch — as it did for its four previous ones!
Karlach’s story would benefit greatly from an epilogue party hosted by Withers – it would be cruel indeed if this happened without Karlach being invited along! These posts offer little confirmation as to when Karlach might see another chance.
Should everything go according to plan, BG3 Patch 5 should arrive no later than early next week and hopefully deliver all that we are hoping for!
