Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 finally received its Game Of The Year award after Sony gave it to them!
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has earned its inaugural Game of the Year award, presented by Sony itself – creating more meme-fuelled meme energy that Big Obama handing Obama his medal meme energy!
At Keighley’s The Game Awards this year, Baldur’s Gate 3 took home the top award and it deservedly so; I encourage everyone to play it! However, all six nominees for Game of the Year could easily have taken home top honours: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Super Mario Bros Wonder Resident Evil 4 Alan Wake 2 were all worthy contenders as was Baldur’s Gate 3. Unfortunately though Keighley’s The Game Awards isn’t alone when award shows like PlayStation Blog awards show off; its awards winners just recently were revealed and no doubt Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won big at both events!
Sony wasn’t simply handing itself an award; rather, fans voted on these fan voted awards and received ballots to vote on PlayStation exclusive titles like Miranda Priestly said was groundbreaking: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 took home top honours as PS5 Game of the Year followed by runners up Baldur’s Gate 3, Final Fantasy XVI and Alan Wake 2 each winning their own respective awards and Insomniac being recognized with Studio of the Year status as well.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won an impressive array of accolades during its two year run: Best New Character for Venom; Best Graphical Showcase, Audio Design Award Winner of 2016, Soundtrack of the Year 2016, Accessibility Features Best Use and DualSense Controller Award winners.
Alan Wake 2 earned Best Art Direction, EA Sports FC 24 took home Best Sports Game honors, Resident Evil Village VR Mode was honored as PS VR2 Game of the Year while Baldur’s Gate 3 won Multiplayer Experience honors. Hogwarts Legacy received PlayStation 4 Game of the Year whereas Fortnite earned Ongoing Game honors, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty claimed Best Expansion award and Sea of Stars won Best Independent Game award – earning top honours overall!
