2K Games and Saber Interactive have announced a special partnership because the former will be publishing later this season NBA Playgrounds 2 when it comes out on all major platforms.
As announced on Facebook, 2K Games is publishing NBA Playgrounds 2 and the game will be published sometime in Fall 2018. Comments from the two parties are posted below.

“No one is committed to bringing fans a great basketball experience than 2K. We can’t wait to share more on how we’re teaming up to create NBA 2K Playgrounds two’s incredible arcade action bigger and better than ever for gamers,” said Saber CEO Matt Karch.
The game will be released for the PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The franchise serves as a spiritual successor to the popular NBA Jam series.
