Imperator Rome allows you to set lofty goals, such as conquering the entire world as Rome or toppling one its giants when playing with a smaller country. However, victory doesn’t always come easily. Having console commands available and cheats on hand can be very useful in the event of an unexpected.

There are many things that could stop your plans from coming to fruition, whether they involve painting your country’s map with the country’s colors or just getting by without becoming part of a larger empire. You might be surprised by a neighbor, or a poke in the back from an old ally. These are all situations where the Imperator: Rome console commands, and cheats, could prove very useful.

Originally accessible by pressing a single button, Imperator Rome’s console commands or cheats require an additional step to activate.

You can run the Steam version by right-clicking on the game in the library and selecting Properties. You’ll find a dialog box under the Launch Options section in the General tab. You can add “-debug_mode” without quotes to the General tab and the console will be brought up in-game by pressing the tilde key ().

This will disable achievements and prevent you from using ironman on multiplayer matches.

When entering commands or cheats for Imperator Rome console, remember to remove brackets. The IDs are indicated in the purple text you see when hovering over the map.

    • Amount (amount): Changes your aggressive expansion to a specified amount

 

    • Annexe (country name/ID – Annexes specific country

 

    • Army (unit number) (provinceID) – Adds a specified amount of units to a specified province

 

    • army_loyalty (province ID), (amount) – This determines the loyality of the army in the specific province to a specified amount

 

    • Cash (amount) – Adds a specified amount of gold to the amount or 5000 gold if there is no amount.

 

    • Centralization (amount). – This sets centralization to a specified amount.

 

    • character.age (character ID), (number) – Sets the age of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • Character.charisma (character ID), (number) – Changes the charisma of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • character.corruption (character ID, number) – Changes the corruption of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • Character.experience (character ID, number) – This sets the experience of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • character.finesse (character ID), (number) – Sets finesse of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • character.health (character ID, number) – Changes the health of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • Character.martial (character ID), (number) – Sets martial of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • Character.popularity (character ID, number) – This sets the popularity of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • Character.prominence (character ID, number) – Changes the prominence of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • character.wealth (character ID), (number) – Sets wealth of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • character.zeal (character ID), (number) – Sets the zeal of a specified character to a specified number

 

    • civilwar (country ID – This is the start of a civil war within the country.

 

    • Conquer (province ID). – The specified country must conquer the province.

 

    • Control (province ID), (country ID). – The specified country should have control over the province.

 

    • debug_mode – Shows IDs and tags in-game

 

    • Declare_War (country ID), (country ID), – Declares war on the specified countries

 

    • decolonize (province ID – Decolonizes a specific province

 

    • Execute (country ID) – Executes all navy and soldiers of the specified country

 

    • Help – Displays a list of all commands

 

    • horde (province ID). – Creates a barbarian hode in a specified province

 

    • imprison (character ID – Imprisons specified characters

 

    • kill (character ID). Kills a specified character

 

    • Make_child (mother and Father) – Creates a child for the parents specified

 

    • Manpower (amount). – Add a specified amount of manpower to the number or 50,000 if there is no amount.

 

    • Military_experience (amount). – Add a specified amount of military expereince or 100 if none is specified.

 

    • navy (ship count), (province ID). – Spawns a specified amount Triremes in a province.

 

    • political_influence (amount). – Grants a specified amount of political influence, or 100 if none is specified.

 

    • Revolt (country ID): Starts a rebellion in a specified country.

 

    • stab (+/-amount – This sets stability to 100 Modifies the command by adding +amount or –amount

 

    • tech_all – Grants 1 level for all branches of technology

 

    • tick_day (number days) – Advances the time by a specified number of days

 

    • Warexhaustion (+/-amount – This sets war exhaustion at 20. Modifies the command by adding or subtracting amount
